Transformation of a London Flat Into an Assisted Living home
Transformation into an Assisted Living flat with monitoring features, smart lighting, climate, and security control, all designed and installed by Automate London. The brief was to allow for a better quality of life for both the resident and the caregiver.
The Brief
The brief was to provide a home which allows for a better quality of life for both the resident and the caregiver.
The client wished to introduce home automation to provide better self-sufficiency and reduce the worry for family members and caregivers. The key here was to ensure that the technology has easy usability for the resident, and also for those who may visit that are not familiar with the install.
A further challenge was to ensure that the traditional features of the property were still honoured. So it was important not to dictate the design, keeping the features front and centre.
We have provided a comprehensive solution, enabling unobtrusive monitoring and support for the elderly resident of the home. Loxone's technology has allowed for life-changing improvements to be made, which mean that the resident can live self-sufficiently for longer.
Fall Detection and
Behaviour Monitoring
Through the installation of presence sensors, Loxone can monitor activity in each room, sending a notification to family members/carers if there are unusual behaviour changes, which may indicate a fall or illness.
Emergency Buttons
We provided the resident with a Wrist Button Air and multiple Button Air's dotted around the flat, for easy access to emergency calling and notifications to family members/carers.
Climate Control
The heating was integrated with Loxone to ensure each room is kept at the perfect temperature at all times. This is perfect for ensuring best possible comfort within the home, without having to remember to turn the heating off before bed!
Lighting Control
Lighting is controlled, but is presented in an easy-to-use manner. All lighting moods are driven by presence, depending on the time of day, meaning the resident rarely has to use the switches. We also configured a low lighting mood, which highlights the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
